How to credit points on AMEX Platinum

How to credit points on AMEX Platinum

I am getting ready to purchase some flights on the amextravel portal to take advantage of the 5X bonus. I am booking some delta flights. In addition to earning the 5X AMEX MR bonus I can also earn the airline loyalty points, but the amextravel site only give me the option of earning Delta points. I would like them credited to flying blue instead. (I hope that makes sense) Should I book the tickets on amex without entering a loyalty number then go to the delta site and get the points credited to Flying Blue, or should I enter the delta loyalty number on the amex site and then go to delta and change it to Flying Blue. Can you tell I am confused?

Yep, just book the tickets without entering a loyalty number. You’ll earn the points when you fly, so you can just add it at check in.
