How do you back-up your phone or amazing travel photos?
I recently got back from a great two week trip with my girlfriend where we traveled to Amsterdam, drove all around Ireland and Scotland, then ended in Munich for local sights and Oktoberfest. We used my phone to take great pictures of both of us and the amazing scenery, which apparently never synched or saved to my icloud.
On the second to last day before we left I lost my phone at Oktoberfest, for obvious reasons, and spent our last day in town trying to track it down, with no luck.
So how do you make sure all YOUR photos and info are backed up?
Not familiar with the iphone but did you turn off the auto sync feature? On Android you can select a wi-fi only backup option. That’s what I use and just make sure to connect to wifi from time to time so that backups take place.
Basically I travel with two devices – my iPhone and either my iPad or MacBook Air. At night in the hotel, I set both devices in WiFi mode and the phone photos sync into my iPad or laptop.
I have an android and I put settings in such a way to backup on wifi and when charging. So when I come back to the hotel in the night when I charge it automatically backs up to google photos.
Yeah so iCloud SUCKS if youre on the free tier. Photos fill it up pretty quickly and you’ll be bombarded with storage full messages. I have an Android phone and use Google Photos. Unlimited photo backup as long as you select their high quality photo version and not the full size backup.
Download Google Photos for iOS and you backup to them as well! Just open the app and connect to wifi. Its supposed to backup automatically but in my experience, apps that run in the background on iOS has problems – my parents iphones never autoupload to google photos properly.
