Would like to know if I do the challenge for Diamond ( should complete 8 stays) but in the end I could only complete 4, would it automatically drop down to Gold ( as this requires 4 stays) or do I have nothing at all ? Thank you !

I’m not positive but I think you have nothing at all. Maybe someone who’s more knowledgeable can chime in.

Yes, my father was in the same situation as you a few months ago and he only completed 5 stays, he now is a happy HHonors Gold Member! I am also quite sure that it is only 3 stays to retain Gold Status.

FWIW I have not experienced much (any?) difference at all in terms of upgrades or how I am treated on property since moving from Gold to Diamond last year. If you are a frequent Hilton traveler check out the Amex Aspire card, signup bonus + airline credit + resort credit + Diamond status has made this a very lucrative card for us.
