Got miles… Where do I buy cheap tickets???
Hey there! Since August 2015 I have taken your advice and began acquiring credit cards (mostly from your links!!!). The top ones you recommended first and then began on business cards. I turned to business cards mostly because I began getting turned down for other regular Chase and Citi cards because of too many inquiries. Since the inception until now I have amassed around 357,000 miles. I used 50K for a quick coach round trip to Houston from Ft. Myers, FL. That’s all!
I’m fortunate because my monthly spend is legit due to being a business owner at around 15K. Qualifying for the minimum spend has not yet been a problem. My problem is that my goal is to travel with my family (Wife and I and three kids).
How do I get these low miles trips like you do for all of us?
Questions:
1. How far ahead is a good idea to start booking? (I currently would like within a month but the points required seem high… so what’s the sweet spot?
2. My wife has also snagged all the CC’s I have so how do we get around the rejection of getting too many inquiries? And yes we waited 92 days one time.
3. FTU (Frequent Traveler University) is in Vegas in about 1.5 months. Is it something you’d recommend me attending?
4. Currently I’d use ultimaterewardpoints.chase.com or Citi Thankyou Points redemption. Am I missing something or some better place to book travel?
Thanks in advance, Gabriel
