Getting Chase ink business without owning one?

Getting Chase ink business without owning one?

  1. Rohit Deshpande Member

So I have the Chase sapphire preferred card and soon to upgrade to reserve. I want to apply for the Chase ink business cash back card so that I can use it for my phone bill, and other office purchases and get those 5x points per dollar since I have the CSP. My question is this: i don’t own a business so is there anyway I can get the ink business card without owning a business? I haven’t looked at the requirements when applying for that card but I was wondering if anyone here knew before I go to the chase site and try to apply? Thanks!

Do you have any activity that could possibly be classified as a business? Sell stuff on eBay or something like that? I’ve heard that Chase is a little more cautious about issuing business cards than they were back when I got one so I’m not sure how deep they dig into the business side of things but maybe someone else can chime in here.

We don’t sell too many things, just a few things on amazon in the last 10 years, so basically that’s a no to your question. I use the freedom, and also the freedom unlimited for areas with no bonus categories. But with my Verizon bill and Netflix subscription and frequent staples shopping, I feel there is a lot of points left on the table since I could be getting 5x per dollar instead of 1.5. Any other idea should you might have for applying?
