Fuel Surcharges on Emirates award ticket using JAL Miles

Fuel Surcharges on Emirates award ticket using JAL Miles

@Lucky had previously noted that JAL is no longer charging large fuel surcharges. http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2016/03/31/emirates-first-class-good-deal/

However, this recent comment on another site appears to state otherwise: http://www.milevalue.com/best-way-to-book-emirates-first-class-japan-airlines-miles-with-cheap-prices-no-fuel-surcharges/#li-comment-1460510

Do we have any other data points or info? For example a trip LAX-DXB-BKK does that last leg add on significant surcharges?
