Hi,

For cards that come with a sign up perk of free nights (i.e. the Citi Hilton Reserve or the Hyatt card), is this something you get annually, or just one time? I know the IHG card comes with an annual free night perk, but I am a bit confused by the sign-up bonuses on these other cards.

For example the Hyatt card gives you a free night once per year for a cat 1-4 hotel, the Citi Hilton card gives you a free weekend night after spending $10K per year. Some credit cards give you a free night yearly for just paying the annual fee and others have a minimum spend. Although the Hilton certificate can be used at most Hilton properties

Clarification on the Hyatt card. Once you meet the initial spending threshold it’s 2 free nights at ANY Hyatt worldwide, not just cat 1-4. So if you can wait, it’s good to hold off on getting that card until you need it for an aspirational property. After your first anniversary you get the cat 1-4 night.

Marriott also has a free cat 1-5 night each year.
