Bryan, there are no LH strikes that I’m aware of. LH first cabins are great, J is not the greatest but I’ve enjoyed flying them and would do so again especially if they are the most convenient option.

Paid or award?
LH is fine but I’d also look into Alitalia’s season direct flight. That might be a good experience, given that they’re partnered with Etihad. Air France is a good option as well, if the flight has their new business class
