Expired UAL miles and reinstatement ?

Expired UAL miles and reinstatement ?

  1. Anonymous Guest

A deceased family member had 61,000 UAL miles expire in October 2013. I have his account number and password, so for $400, I can get them reinstated. Is there any danger in waiting until 2016 to reinstate them? Also, how do I pay for them with my credit card in my name and not his? I don’t want to trigger something with UAL.

I don’t know about UAL policies but it shouldn’t be too hard to get an additional card on your account in their name. I think Chase doesn’t require SSNs for additional card holders. I assume you are next of kin/have permission to use the UAL account.
