EU 261 Compensation?
Hello All,
Any help with this possible EU 261 fight compensation claim would be greatly appreciated. Here’s the situation:
My brother was supposed to fly on Iberia (maybe Iberia Express) 3947 from SVQ to MAD on 10/30/19. Scheduled departure was 9:30am and scheduled arrival was 10:20am. Due to a reason (I need to get more info from my brother here), the flight was delayed and departed at 12:13pm and landed at 1:16pm. This delay caused him to miss his flight, IB 6165, to BOS. That flight departed on-time at 12:44pm.
Due to his missed connection, Iberia rebooked him on IB 6253 to JFK (10/30/19) and then on AA 1278 10/30-10/31/19) to BOS. Since no Premium Economy is offered on AA’s flight, they downgraded him on that segment to Economy.
All in all, he will arrive in BOS approximately 9 hours after he was originally booked to arrive and was downgraded on one segment in the process.
Is he entitled to compensation under EU law? If so, how do you recommend he proceeds with his claim? He will only use a service that handles the claim for him. Any recommendations?
Thank you all so much!!!
