Entering LAX TBIT using other terminals

Entering LAX TBIT using other terminals

  1. saba New Member

    Hi,
I am flying Air Italy from LAX to MXP in early August. I want to enter through T4 instead of TBIT so that I can clear using precheck. I am not checking a bag so I am hoping that I can skip TBIT since Air Italy doesn’t have precheck. I have found conflicting information on this, some say that any same-day boarding pass can be used for any terminal and some say that is no longer the case. Can anyone shine some light on this for me? Of course, all of this is dependent on the online check-in actually working with Air Italy but given the crappy site, I will not hold my breath.

Anyways, thank you guys in advance for your help!

I did just the opposite of what you did about 3 weeks ago. I was flying Alaska, but wanted to have dinner before my flight at PF Chang. So I used my boarding pass at the “secret security line” at TBIT. https://liveandletsfly.boardingarea.com/2017/05/05/best-kept-secret-lax/

Breezed on in and up to PF Chang. The agent did ask me if I knew I wasn’t in terminal 6 and I told her yeah I wanted to grab dinner and she waived me forward. After dinner I used the airside corridors to make my way to Terminal 6. I don’t see why it will not work in reverse for you.

Or alternatively, you may just want to use the “secret security line.” There were two employees in line with me and that was it when I went through.

I did see this before but some of the forums said that the line is often closed? I’m thinking it will be open around 4 pm on a Monday which is when I will likely get there. I have priority pass so going the PF Changs route would be ideal if this section is open. Have you heard anything about unreliable hours relating to this? Thanks for your help.

I just realized that since I am flying Air Italy and they don’t have TSA precheck that precheck wouldn’t show on my boarding pass anyway right? so, either way, I would be screwed waiting in longer lines whether at T4 or TBIT….so this secret option you sent would in fact be the best way to go.

Yes it is likely your best bet. Unfortunately I know nothing about its hours. I have only tried to use it twice and it was opened both times. Each time was a little after noon during the week. Good luck.
