Egypt Air Family Plan

Egypt Air Family Plan

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi –

Just wanted you guys to be aware of an interesting star alliance partner mileage program.

Egypt air program allows family pooling of both redeemable and status miles. This is unique compared to other programs like BA, etc. The only catch is that your family members do not accumulate the miles/status – all goes to the leader’s account. This is awesome for quickly attaining star gold status.

I’m not sure how easy it is to redeem egypt miles. But if you were to fly, for example, as a family of 4 from jfk-ist-bom round trip as a family of 4 in turkish business class (often can find fares in low 2000$ range), you would accumulate enough miles to attain star gold status for 2 years….after just one trip!

This is a really cool feature for family travellers to be aware of. Can do similar things with BA household account, but only to accumulate avios and not status.
