Effects of Lap Infant No Show?

Effects of Lap Infant No Show?

Odd question – Does anyone know if an award reservation that includes a lap infant is negated if the infant ultimately doesn’t travel?

Some background: Have an upcoming flight on ANA that originally included a lap ticket for our daughter, but since have decided not to bring her. This was booked through Virgin and I was able to cancel & get a refund for the lap infant charges. However our ANA reference is not being updated correctly. Called both carriers multiple times to get this remedied, but ANA continues to see an open infant ticket on our booking reference. Worried that our return flight might be cancelled due to the infant no show after we take our first flight (if we are even able to board then).

The entire PNR for multiple tickets isn’t canceled if an individual ticket number is canceled, so I think you’ll be fine. They’ll likely fix it when you check in initially.

Thanks Tiffany! Helps calm the worries a bit.

That’s very odd that ANA still shows the ticket is open even though it’s been refunded by VS But nonetheless, this is nothing to worry about. Just let the agent know that the INF is not traveling at the counters. This will not impact your tickets whatsoever, as they are separate tickets. It somehow they still show the INF ticket as open, only the INF ticket will be non-usable upon return. It will not affect your ticket whatsoever! The only error you might face is not being able to check-in online because of the INF with e-ticket issue. Just go to the counters early and they’ll be able to resolve this for you. It’s not a rare occurrence
