These intra-Europe flights do have SWISS numbers (8xxx).

They’re a Swiss subsidiary, but not part of Star Alliance. Flights are not bookable with UA or Aeroplan.
Edelweiss doesnt seem to have their own loyalty program. To earn miles, flights must be booked via SWISS with an LX flight number, and you can only credit to Miles and More. Which also means that M&M is the only program that can book awards on Edelweiss.
