Earn Emirates/SPG or Alaska points for a flight

Earn Emirates/SPG or Alaska points for a flight

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Good Morning,

In the near future I plan to buy a business class ticket on Emirates and had originally planned to open an Alaska Air miles account and have the flight credited to that award account. Recently I discovered this program (https://www.spgpromos.com/yourworldrewards/register/) that if I understand correctly would give me the Emirates miles, but also give me additional points on SPG (based on gold membership). Seeing I will probably be spending $4k+ I would think the 4k+ SPG points would be much more valuable then crediting this to the Alaska air program? Thoughts?

If I’m reading that correctly, you’re only earning Starpoints for the cost of the ticket, not for miles flown. So you’d still want to credit your flown miles to Alaska. However, I didn’t follow through to the registration page so I could be wrong.

It also depends on which points and miles you personally value more and want more of and/or can easily get more of.

I believe the terms of service states you need to use your Emirates FF account to obtain the SPG credit. David, you are correct and I think that I would value the SPG and Emirates points combined worth more then just obtaining Alaska points.
