Earliest checking luggage time at JFK

Earliest checking luggage time at JFK

  1. Daniel B Gold

I am scheduled to arrive (fly) at JFK 9 hours before my flight to LHR on AA. Can I check my luggage that early at an AA counter at JFK? I would much rather sit in the lounge than wait with my luggage for hours before security. Has anyone had luck checking luggage in that early? Thank you

There are only certain airports at AA with checked bag limits, so as long as you’re day-of, I’d presume this is ok.

JFK is not one of those airports on the 4 hours list:

Thank you Russ. That is great news!

Yeah, given that JFK is an AA hub, you’d have no issue. The airports on the list at the link provided by Russ are all non-AA hubs and really busy airports, so it’s not that surprising to see a restriction.
