Do I Qualify for the Companion Pass ??

Do I Qualify for the Companion Pass ??

  1. Anonymous Guest

If I apply and am approved (also meet the qualifying $ spend) for Southwest Rapid Rewards®Premier Credit Card (50000 points) and the Southwest Rapid Rewards®Premier BusinessCredit Card (60000 points), do I qualify for a Companion Pass ??

Also, If I do this by Mar-2017, how long is the pass good ???

    Thanks,

    Ed J.

Yes, you can apply for both cards and meet the minimum spend to qualify for a companion pass. However, you only have until March 31st, 2017 to do so. Points from the credit card that posts after this date will not count toward the 110k point requirement for the companion pass.

Once earned, a companion pass is valid for the remainder of the year it is earned plus the next full calendar year. Therefore, when you earn the pass by March 31st, 2017, it will expire December 31st, 2018.

I’m not sure if this is accurate in terms of the deadline. I believe that is only for transfers from hotels and car rentals. Points earned via cc signup should continue to count towards CP.
