Delta Status Match Challenge

Anonymous GuestI have recently been granted a Gold Delta Status Match Challenge. I have to get 12500MQM to qualify. I also was granted an American Express Delta Reserve credit card where I can earn 10000MQM on my first purchase. The Delta agent tells me that I can only win the challenge by MQMs earned on Delta flights and nothing else.
Do you know if this is correct as I thought the MQM from Amex would be counted towards the 12500!!

I think the T&Cs of the challenge will stipulate that the MQMs must be earned from flying and not credit card spend or bonus. It’d otherwise be too easy
