Delta Medallion, Who qualifies as companion?

Delta Medallion, Who qualifies as companion?

  1. Anonymous Guest

I am looking to book award travel with Delta Skymiles next year for my family of 4.My wife and I each have about 170,000 Skymiles, so my plan is for each of us to use miles for our own ticket and 1 child.

I will have Silver Medallion status next year but she will not. My understanding is that all companions of mine can get preferred seating at booking. Would my wife and the child booked on her ticket be considered companions and be eligible for this benefit, or no because they are on a separate ticket?

Is there any way for us to all be on the same ticket if we have to use Skymiles from separate accounts?

I dont think they’d be eligible because they’re on separate tickets and there’s no way to be on the same ticket if using miles from different accounts.

However, it cant hurt to call Delta and see if they’ll do anything for you if you explain the situation to them.

You could also use your SkyMiles to book all 4 tickets one-way, and then hers the other. That way at least you get preferred seating on one direction… if one direction is longer/overnight/etc., that could help
