Delta BOS-SFO

Delta BOS-SFO

Wondering if this has happened to anyone else…

I’m traveling on Delta from BOS-SFO in business in mid-November. I was going through my upcoming trips and saw the usual schedule changes (changing arrival times from 1045 to 1042, etc), however I saw that the class of service was changed from Z (business/Delta One) to G and the aircraft was changed to a standard domestic 757 with domestic first recliner seats.

Looking at Delta’s schedule from November 1 on, it doesn’t appear like business class is able to be booked on this route.

    So, my questions are:

    – is this just a routine schedule change and it will switch back?

    – anyone else notice this?

    – if not, what are my options? I know that equipment switches all the time and you can’t count on a given aircraft for a given route HOWEVER I did book a paid business fare and this isn’t just an equipment switch, it seems to be a change in class of service.

Any thoughts? If I had known, I would have just booked JetBlue…

    Thanks!

Welcome @EnricoPalazo – I don’t know for certain but I would guess that since business travel drops off in Nov & Dec that they’re downsizing for that time period.

I’d call Delta and have him put you on another direct flight with Delta One or connection in New York

    Thanks – appreciate the help.

I called and they were able to route me via another D1 route, so it all worked out.

I THOUGHT that’s what should happen but when I called the first time, the Medallion line operator took 30 minutes to tell me that (1) there wasn’t much of a difference between the two products and (2) they couldn’t find any other flights with a business class cabin leaving the east cost on that day. To be fair, they said there was a computer issue so maybe they couldn’t see what was available. After this, I started to doubt if I just ran out of luck.

I called back this afternoon – this rep was able to take care of it but it still took 35 minutes and two discussions with a supervisor to change it.

And yes, you’re right about that route – the second rep said that route has been performing poorly and they’ve taken it off the domestic D1 routes for now. I checked and there are no business class aircraft on the BOS-SFO route anytime after November 4. Apparently it’s not working for them – not sure if they’ll bring it back although I hope they do.
