CX Business Class B777-300ER

CX Business Class B777-300ER

    My name is Edward.

I have a question regarding to Cathay Pacific’s Business Class seat.

The aircraft is B777-300 ER and the design is Reverse Herringbone.

When I look at the seat map (at seat guru) as well as the pictures, it seems it is quite difficult to talk to a seatmate if we are sitting on the center pair seats.

As an information, my wife and I will travel with 2 young children, so if they need our assistance, we have to stand up a little bit to help them.

Should all of us take the center pair seats or mix with the window seats ?

For instance, the children are sitting on the window seats while the parents are sitting on across the aisle.

We are looking forward to hear from you. Thank you.

    Kind Regards,

    Edward.

In the center seats, you have to lean a bit forward to talk to your seat mate, which I dont find to be that big a problem.

In your situation, I’d go with 2 window seats for the children and you and your wife should take the center seats across the aisle from the children. This way, you can just cross the aisle when the kids need assistance, instead of reaching over the seat or having to go around the galley.

Agree, the center seats aren’t convenient for helping a small child with seatbelts, the IFE, etc. Sitting across from them will be a bit easier, I think.

Definitely the two center seats for you and your wife. I’ve been in both window and center seats. While center isn’t ideal for chatting, it certainly doesn’t present a huge problem. It will make it most advantageous for you to be able to cater to your children as well in the adjacent seats. Safe Travels.

That works too but if you’re really concerned about the kids, especially if theyre real young, I’d try to get everyone on the same side of the plane.

Thank you so much for your great feedback which I really appreciate it.

Have decided to assign two window seats for our children and two center seats for me and my wife. I assume it is easier to reach out to our children should they need our assistance if we sit right across them.
Maybe, if we could get the bulkhead seats then the center seats would be a good choice. Unfortunately, the seats have been taken.

Also, the middle section of the Business Class cabin does not have any overhead compartments to store the hand luggage; whereas the left and right sections do have the overhead compartments (according to the photos that I’ve seen).
Hence if we need to get something from our hand luggage, we aren’t gonna disturb the other passengers.
