Connecton flight question

Connecton flight question

  1. Anonymous Guest

Hello, i have a question about connecting flight.
For example…. If i’m flying LAX to SFO via southwest, and SFO to AMS via delta. and booked separately. I’m assuming i have to exit the terminal then re-enter to check-in and security..

how about when i’m flying back AMS to SFO and.. to LAX via domestic airline where i can check in via app. Do i still have to get out of the terminal and re-enter??

    Thanks in advance.

Hello my name is Sean, and wondering about connection flight.
If i’m flying LAX to SFO and SFO to AMS but booked separately through different airlines. I’m guessing i have to exit the terminal and re-enter..?

But how about coming back? AMS to SFO, and SFO to LAX. Do i have to exit at SFO even though i can check in for the flight to LAX via phone??

    Thanks in advance.

Hi Sean! At other airports, you wouldn’t have to leave security between the SFO to LAX flight, but many portions of the airport aren’t connected airside at SFO.

You always leave security when arriving to the US from an international flight, as you have to clear customs and immigration. So yes, sounds like lots of trips through TSA for you on this trip!

If you check bags you will have to claim them each time.
