China Eastern Lounge, Kunming China

China Eastern Lounge, Kunming China

This is not so much a question as a review, I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to fly through Kunming airport with a business class ticket (international). You are granted lounge access, but it is perhaps the WORST lounge we have ever experienced.

There was NO food, the snacks consisted of instant noodles, hard candy and tomatoes. They were out of water but did have some odd liquids in the cooler. The lounge is very small and was filthy. There were 3 people working there and I shamed them into cleaning up the mess, garbage and food strewn everywhere and put out water.

The staff is unable and unwilling to provide any airline information. Also be advised that once you have cleared the security for an international flight you can not leave to go to the vendors outside that are in the domestic area. This is where the restaurants are located.

In general, Kunming is a terrible place to transit. You literally have to enter China to leave China to enter again for your connecting flight to be cleared to leave again. Should you have a long connection time remember the check in desks only open 3 hours ahead of time.
