Checked Baggage at YVR

Checked Baggage at YVR

Hi! I’ve been to YVR twice in the past two years. Both times, departing out of the trans-border terminal. What I find interesting, even when doing a normal counter check in, is you have to roll your own bags to the “bag drop” area. Also, with over sized bags, you have to put the bag on a special x-ray machine, pull it off and then put it on another belt where it is taken. Why isn’t this stuff done behind the scenes?

I’ve done this at other airports too, just can’t think of where. I think it’s more a function of where they have the space available for the scanning equipment.
