I am planning on attempting to get the CSR for both myself and my wife, but due to the spend requirement, I need to stagger the applications to ensure that we can hit both ($4k spend in 3 months a piece). This means that one of us will end up getting the card around the end of the year, but this makes me concerned that we may miss the boat of the CY16 $300 travel credit. Can you provide some insight on exactly when the great reset happens and how we can mitigate this risk? The terms and conditions say on the December statement date, so I’m hoping you or a reader may have a good strategy.

I also do not want to wait too long for the second app, as I am afraid that the signup bonus may be reduced in the not too distant future.

I’d probably apply no later than early November to make sure you have a December statement closing date. Let’s hope that the sign up bonus is around till then. If I were you I’d try to get both as soon as possible and figure out a way to meet spend requirements.
