Chase Sapphire Rental 30 Day Limit

Chase Sapphire Rental 30 Day Limit

Be careful if you depend on Chase as your backup insurance for your rental car insurance.
The fine print says they don’t cover ANY rentals exceeding 30 days. Mine went 31 and I had a 700 dollar bumper hit from someone’s big ‘ole 4 wheel truck boat hitch in the parking lot one night.
No police report as no one to report it to, it’s just there a few days later when I’m loading the trunk.
Anyway, I file the report with chase and they point out…I’m out of luck as it’s 31 days, not 30.
Should have used my AMEX card as it says they cover any incidents in the “first 30 days of rental”.
Of course, they could have argued it happened on day 31 too :(.

Yes, I doubt Amex would cover you if you were reporting it at the end of a 30+ day rental. I generally make sure even long-term rentals are under 30 days, just in case.
