Chase not refunding full amount of airline ticket refund

Chase not refunding full amount of airline ticket refund

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi Ben,

I received a travel refund on my Chase Sapphire Reserve for a canceled airline ticket. Chase is refusing to issue me a check for the entire amount because there are charges on the account on my current billing cycle. Mind you. No payment is due at this point. I pay in full monthly. The supervisor basically told me tough luck, read the agreement or pay your charges off now, and they’ll send me a full refund. I’m pissed off. In your opinion, can they do this? Thanks for all the good work. Petra

I don’t know if they can do it, but (playing devil’s advocate), if your plan is to pay your balance off when it is due anyways, that day will probably come long before you get a resolution to the situation since customer service reps are probably still backed up from everything covid-related.
