Cathay ticket “on request” using AA miles. How long?
Its been more than 2 weeks and 2 Cathay business class tickets redeemed with AA miles are “on request”. I have reached the twitter team, made 2 phone calls to customer service (they said that the problem was a my middle name in the reservation), and they said it would be fixed, but tickets are still “on request” and not “ticketed”. Trip is in September. Has anybody been in this situation? Whats the solution?
Welcome @Ricki – I’d keep an eye on it but I wouldn’t worry about it for awhile yet. A few years ago I had an award ticket on Fiji Air issued via AA and it took several months to get out of the “on request” status. Like you I had booked many months in advance and it kinda felt like that the trip dates being so far away pushed my ticket further down in the queue. Then later, when the system could get caught up and my trip got closer, it got a higher priority and was actually ticketed.

It happens. I had an EY award ticket that AA decided to keep on request for several months that was ticketed closer to departure after a phone call.
