Cathay Pacific AKL to the USA

Cathay Pacific AKL to the USA

Hi All! Thanks for all the wonderful help as usual. I was thinking of trying to get my parents in law from AKL to ORD (or LAX) on Cathay via HK in J. was thinking of buying Alaska Points to do it…. Finding it so hard to search though! Qantas has all the emirates flights, and long haul economy disguised as J. Expert flyer wont show Cathay….

Is AKL to HK; or HK to ORD/LAX, in June, an impossibility for 2 in J?

Have you tried using the BA search engine and looking for AKL-HKG and then HKG-US segments separately?

Since BA prices flights on a per-segment basis that’s the easiest way to find flights. Of course you’d use Alaska pricing but the BA tool will at least let you do the searching. You must log in with your BAEC number to do searches, unfortunately.

Neither AS nor AA’s search engine will show CX award space. You have to use BA or QF’s tools and search each segment individually, as @MidSouth Skier says. Personally, I like BA’s tool better than QF’s

Thanks guys. Super helpful. I found some legs here and there on BA (pain to search day by day though). If I find legs (even days apart) Alaska can book me as a married segment auckland to ord or la?

Any suggestions on most available route Hk to Usa? Vancouver had none that I saw! Ord has a few dates. But mostly one only in j or f
