Carry on luggage
Hi guys,
Normally when I travel I take a small rolling luggage (~20 inch) and an oversized, over the shoulder bag. I’m noticing now that my roller is not fitting on the new American Airlines overhead bin. Are the rest of you having this issue-are you checking your bags now, or switching to smaller rolling bags?
I haven’t noticed any change in the overhead bins. I’ve seen some passengers directed to place their bag in the sizer prior to boarding if it looked too large but I’m not sure this is a new American Airline practice since I didn’t fly them before the merger with US Airways. In any event, the total length, including wheels, is 22 inches.
Hey @Xfinity, what plane type are you having problems with, do you know?
My bag is 20 x 9.5 x 14, which fits pretty much anywhere, so I might not have the best perspective, but maybe others do.
Hi Tiffany,
I was on a flight from LA to Las Vegas, and it looked like a new plane and the overhead bins were rinky dink. I had to place my 20 inch roll on back to the front of the plane and check it in. At the same time I read that the new economy flights are only allowing a single personal item (smaller size), so I wondered if this was going to be the new normal–at least on these small planes?
