Cancelling Partially-Used Avios Ticket

Cancelling Partially-Used Avios Ticket

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Dear OMAAT Gods –

Apologies if this questions has been previously answered, but I couldn’t find a previous chain on this so would very much appreciate your help.

I understand that BA Avios redemption tickets can be refunded by forfeiting the taxes if they are under the $55 cancellation fee, and the Avios would then be deposited into my account. Was wondering how this works for round trip tickets, particularly if I have to cancel the ticket after I have flown one of the legs?

Issue is because booking them as two separate one ways is somehow pricing more expensively than the round trip, so wondering if I should split the trip up in case I need to cancel the return leg when I’m there. Thanks!!
