Cancelled flight

Cancelled flight

I booked return flights with Airasia. They have cancelled both flights and are refusing to refund me and only offering a credit voucher. Can I insist on my money being refunded?

Each airline has its own rules. You can hang up and call back and ask but you can’t insist. Unfortunately, many people are in the same boat during this crisis particularly with foreign airlines. My SIL has the same problem with Air France which is only offering vouchers good for one year.

Since posting I have found that AirAsia are regulated by the Malaysian Aviation Consumer Protection Code. Their site advises that if the airline cancel the flight you are entitled to a full monetary refund. I have raised my complaint with them. So fingers crossed.
