business class tix for wedding gift

    Hello!,
Three parts to my question, and I appreciate any help .
First, I have been looking for business/first class availability to Hawaii from the west coast, and except for the occasional 40k (but spend an overnight at some other airport) Alaska ticket, there seems to be no availability, or the points are crazy outrageous. Any suggestions? I’ve read bloggers discussion on Hawaii but it seems centered on economy.
Second, I never fly Delta but their site confuses me. If I see the note “lowest price” on a date on the calendar, that is the presumed award that I can book with partners?
Third, the various sites mention how great to use Korean sky miles, but since they are roundtrip for partners, it seems worthless as by the time you get far enough out for a round trip, the earlier way has been snatched up.
Any recommendations? Or just go and buy tickets?
    thanks!

Finding award tickets to Hawaii is not easy as you are discovering:

You’re not alone in finding Delta’s site confusing. Since they don’t publish an award chart, the price is whatever their search engine says it is. That makes it difficult to know which flights will be available to partner airlines because just because it’s the “lowest price” that doesn’t mean it’s available to partners, just that it’s the cheapest award on that route on that day.

If you really want premium cabin space to Hawaii, you’re better off to buy it. Even if you find space, who knows if you’d find two seats. And for a special event like this you’d rather have the peace of mind by locking down seats ahead of time.
