British Airways First/Club World Lounge Access Transiting LHR
I’ll be flying from IAH-BCN via LHR on May 6th, 2019 on British Airways. My IAH-LHR leg will be in First while my LHR-BCN leg will be in World Traveller (Confusing that they didn’t book me in Club Europe but that’s a different story — not like I’ll be missing out on anything). Anyways, my transit time at LHR is about 4 hours and will be arriving at Terminal 5 from IAH but departing from Terminal 3 to BCN. I have a couple questions to ask you all:
1. Will I have access to the First Gallerie lounge at Terminal 3? Or maybe the Club Lounge with a previous Long Haul First boarding pass?
2. If I don’t have access to above, should I just head to the Arrivals lounge in Terminal 5? Then head to Terminal 3 an hour before boarding my flight to BCN. I’ve flown to LHR multiple times but will be my first time transiting through so don’t know how much time going from Terminal 3 to Terminal 5 will take. Heard could be anywhere from 15-30 mins.
Note that I do carry a Priority Pass card as well, but would far prefer to use BA lounges. Let me know.
You can access the oneworld lounges in T3 (Qantas as well as BA) based on your inbound first class boarding pass, so I would head directly to T3.
@Daniel S you should also be eligible to access the Cathay F (and J for that matter) lounge. IMO both of those are better than the BA F lounge
Edit: check out these reviews to get an idea how they compare

@Tiffany – what about the CX and AA lounges in T3? Would the poster need OWE or OWS to get into those lounges? I know this may be sacrilegious, but I actually like the AA First lounge in T3 more than the crowded BA Galleries lounges. Granted, only if I am departing T3. But as AA Exec Plat and OWE I can access the Admirals Club F lounge which is never crowded (as compared to BA’s….)
All of Cathay’s lounges, AA’s Flagship First and AA Admirals Club lounges are oneworld lounges. If you have a corresponding oneworld Emerald status, you can access any of those lounges. If you have oneworld Sapphire, you can access all except for Cathay First lounges.
Eventually, AA will have a Flagship First Dining facility at LHR, and I believe it’s only accessible if you’re flying AA Flagship First, though AA may negotiate access for specific customers (Cathay First pax get access at JFK)
Thanks for all your responses! So, I contacted British Airways’ “You First” Hotline (Customer Service for those flying in BA F) regarding this matter as well and they told me that my inbound First boarding pass will no longer be valid for Lounge access in Terminal 3 once I land. I’ll need a valid departing First/Club World/Club Europe boarding pass for the some day to access. The only place that I’ll have access to is the Arrivals Lounge… Could it be that they are misinformed regarding this matter?

Sound like the BA hotline is talking crap to me, would not be the first time.

Lounge access will be determined on the international long haul ticketed flight (either First of Business Class) regardless of the ticketed class of travel on the international short haul or domestic flight.
Relax and enjoy your stay in T3.
