i looked at AA.com for trip from phx to rome in first class and it used BA but did not show fees or surcharges? is that correct? also, if so, is the 777 in first with BA better than the business class? if there are big surcharges how do you advise me searching? between delta and AA which are better to book a trip like this? thanks.

It should show the total taxes and fees when you click through to the confirmation screen. First class is nearly always better than business class, but I wouldn’t necessarily pay for BA F over AA business given the fuel surcharges.

And certainly — if you have SkyMiles, and can get to the gateway city inexpensively, that’s a great option.

Also, saw about kris flyer can you sign up for krisflyer without flying to try to book an award with amex and cit points? how hard is it to get award to frankfurt with singapore in may or june in bus or first class?
