best strategy for possible upgrade / waitlist/MUA?
Greetings
Hopefully someone can share thoughts on their experience.
Looking to book economy seats to Paris and wondering what is the best strategy for possible
upgrade:
Book economy saver space with points (no biz available) and waitlist for business saver space – even try to for Plan b if possible. OR:
Buy an economy tix eligible for MUA and pay the extra $$ and points when booking. (still less than outright biz ticket). Have never done this but when I do advanced search and indicate MUA space
this opportunity shows.
Does this upgrade happen instantly if there are seats? Does it trump above sometime later?
Any direction appreciated. Thank you!
Kim
It’s my understanding that upgrade space and saver-level business space are the same fare bucket. So, neither would clear into business at booking.
I don’t think one method is better than the other, you still have to wait for space to become available – then it would be yours.
You’ll have to balance paying the extra cash (added benefit of earning some miles for the revenue ticket) vs paying the miles.
