Best Lounge at HKG for AE Platinum Card
Hi Gang,
I am going to have a 6-7 hour layover at HKG and wanting to relax while my wife runs around shopping. We have the American Express Platinum and will be flying with American in Business Class. I just don’t know that airport well at all and not sure if the lounges are mostly comparable. Any thoughts from anyone that knows it well would be very much appreciated!
Hello!
Giving that you are flying with American in Business, your Plat wouldn’t do much work in this case other than on the shopping end and foreign transaction fee 😉
I’ve been in and out of HKG a lot, 6-7 hours can give you a brief 2-3 hours in HKG/ Kowloon and another 2 hours roughly for the transit in between airport to the central HKG (41 mins one way in account for some cushion time). There, my friend, are endless options for food/shops/scenes to explore.
In terms of staying in HKG, I would strongly suggest the Pier near Gate 65. The place is huge but still maintain some quite spaces. The design is from Studioilse by Ilse Crawford, a london-based interior designer. The lounge offers showers/fresh-made food/others. Lucky only has the first class lounge review, but you can look around the web to see others review. (Sam’s below)

Hope that helps!
