BEST first class from Italy to jfk
i am looking to book a one way trip from Italy to jfk. I want the BEST experience I can get. I have 250000 points on American Express platinum and 150000onchase sapphire. I think I would need to supplement it but I don’t care. Can you help me.
Hi! Your best options for first class are going to be Lufthansa (only bookable within two weeks) or Singapore, and both would have connections in Germany. There aren’t any carriers offering first class between Italy and the US, though there are some solid business class products.
I flew AA from ORD-FCO a few days ago. Not first class, but excellent service for business. I found it to be very nice and better than a couple first class products I’ve flown on. They operate the same aircraft (777-200) FCO-JFK. Not first class, but a excellent non-stop business class option.
Emirates flies direct to Milano and they seem to have a top notch 1st class product (as well as business class).
I’ve been doing my own research to fly that route and I know that you can convert your AMEX points to the Emirates Skywards program (not sure about the Sapphire points). Also Emirates has lounges at JFK and Malpensa and they provide a chauffeured car to take you to the airport and from the airport once you arrive at your destination (and vice versa) within I think 50km though.

Oh, I always forget about Emirates being on that route, since there isn’t a great way to redeem for it! Good call.
You can redeem through Skywards, but keep in mind the surcharges will be very high, and the mileage requirements are steep too.

Yay! I knew something helpful. 🙂
I’ve barely scratched the surface to know how to utilize points/miles so you’ve got me beat there.
