Best card for recent college graduate

Best card for recent college graduate

My daughter just graduated and I was wondering what would be the best credit card for her. I was thinking something with cash back as opposed to just miles? Thanks.

Welcome @Billyg – your instincts are good. I’d go with either the Citi Double Cash card or the Chase Freedom card. Both are no-fee cards.

With the CDC you get 1% cash back when you buy and 1% back when you pay. Just be sure NOT to apply cash back as a statement credit or it doesn’t count as the 1% when you pay.

With the Chase Freedom card there are rotating quarterly bonus categories that earn 5% cash back. She can use the points earned as cash back or she can use the points to book travel through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal.
