At what point is first/business class a stupid investment?

At what point is first/business class a stupid investment?

I’ve been thinking about this for a while, I am a moderately frequent flyer, and since 2011 I haven’t honestly flown economy, my thought process is that the airport experience, in flight advantages and priority access are worth the extra cost for even short haul flights. What i’m wondering is, what does this community think/do when it comes to booking flights, and when is paying the extra cost for a premium cabin just ridiculous?

The intersection of how much money (or points/miles) you have and how much you enjoy premium travel is different for each person… Over on other forums, I see a lot of people passing judgment on others’ travel habits as being a waste of money, but if you can afford it, why not? Personally, I’d rather use miles to pay for long haul business class tickets once every 2-3 years (based on my spending patterns) than fly economy and take vacations more frequently.

I so agree. Economy is like cattle class travel. If you are an infrequent traveler, and you can use the points, in my opinion, its worth splurging the extra miles..but its each one personal opinion 🙂

I agree completely, I’ve been lucky with my financial status, and personally have not flown economy in 4 years of constantly weekly and monthly travel. A flat bed truly does a lot.
