AS CC companion pass – separate arrival plans
hi, i would like to learn more about how the AS companion pass work
this would be my first time using the benefit.
is it possible to utilize the companion pass benefit to purchase 2 flight tix to fly if both travelers arrive to the airport separately and will only meet up at the departure gate to board the same flight out to destination?
in other words, am i right in assuming the following?
1) both travelers can check in online, print out their own respective boarding pass, and can go through TSA security as separate individuals.
2) the only time you will be checked to ensure you both are traveling together, is at the departure gate right before boarding the plane
i guess, this wouldnt work if one of you plans to check-in luggage, because this will entail you having human interaction with the check-in counter who will naturally ask why you are not with your companion?
please advise, thanks!
You will both be on the same reservation but yes, you should be able to check in separately via the app or online, get your BP, go thru security and meet at the gate.
With the latter, I’m not sure its a rule where all persons on the reservation have to be at check in for bags. I think its perfectly understandable if you’re arriving separately and you had to check bags before the other person arrived.
