Need to know how to stack SPG status. I have the Amex Business Platinum that has gold status with SPG. I recently got the SPG Business and they assigned a new number and doesnt have gold status Yet (I will be charging the 30k a year on it). Amex said they linked the cards but I still only have the stays on one. I am going to apply for the SPG personal next week. Can I stack the stays and points on the gold membership? If so how? also which account should I be using? when linking accounts does it do just points or stays and status also? any help would be appreciated.

You may need to call SPG and ask that they merge your two SPG accounts. Also make sure that Amex Platinum and the Amex SPG both have the correct SPG number. When you apply for the SPG business card, you can provide your SPG number on the application so that it’ll be linked. It does stack – You can have Gold status from the Amex Platinum as well as the stay & night credits from both the personal and business SPG cards.

I do not believe that the gold status from the Platinum stacks with anything. If you want to get to platinum you’d still need to meet the nights/stays requirement. The personal and business SPG cards will help with this since they give you five nights and two stays each and those can be stacked to get to 10 nights and four stays.
