Amex Mercedes-Benz Platinum conversion

Amex Mercedes-Benz Platinum conversion

  1. Anonymous Guest

So my wife was recently notified that her Mercedes-Benz Platinum will be converted in January to the vanilla Platinum. She has never had the vanilla Platinum before so would this conversion make her ineligible for a future sign up bonus on the vanilla Platinum? Also, would it be possible if I did cancel by the conversion date (it was mid January I think) that I could quickly buy AA gift cards after the New Year and then cancel?

    Thanks for the info!

Vanilla Platinum? You mean the regular non-cobrand Amex Platinum card?

If she’s not getting a bonus for the conversion, you could argue that she’s never received a bonus on the Platinum card, if she applies when she doesnt have it.

The AA gift card purchase should work.
