I am AA Platinum until Feb 2018. I actually earned this status back in 2016.

Can challenge for 2018/2019 before my current Platinum status expires?

Do I have to Challenge for Platinum Pro or Executive Platinum?

Can I Challenge for Platinum status?

Do you know the cost and number of miles for each Challenge status level?

Not sure if this applies while you already have status but check out this post: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2017/01/03/american-status-challenge-2017/

Is there any reason you wouldn’t be able to requalify for platinum this year? You have until December 2017 to qualify for status that expires in Jan 2019
