Hey Lucky,

Quick question – I went to go book 4 Aer Lingus tickets using avios from Boston to Dublin. British Airways agent confirmed availability so I transferred 100k UR to avios in order to process. After entering all the information, the agent told me that he received an error and can’t book the flight!

Now, I’m out 100k UR and left sitting on avios that I probably won’t use for other reasons. Any advice on what to do??

    Thanks so much,

    J

That’s unfortunate. I’d call back a couple of times to make sure it wasn’t an agent error. If not I’d ask for a supervisor and see if there is something they can do for you on a BA flight at the same price given the situation (long shot but nothing ventured nothing gained right?). Failing that you just have to keep an eye out for other uses for the points.

I had that happen, though we actually received an eTicket, and then the flights didn’t confirm. Another agent was eventually able to get it fixed, but I have no idea how they did it. @Gaurav is right that you should keep calling.
