aegean and ethiopian mileage programmes

aegean and ethiopian mileage programmes

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi
I am due to be flying some star alliance flights in the near future, and I was wondering whether it was worth crediting the miles to aegean or ethiopian? From what I can see they both have very good star alliance redemption charts (at least for a Europe based traveller like myself). I know several people have experience on the aegean programme but does anybody have experience on the ethiopian programme at all?
Also, are there credit cards etc that would get me aegean or ethiopian miles out there for a UK based customer?

    Thanks

Hi @jojo12 it really depends on the booking class and which star alliance airline you are travelling on. If you are after status then you can consider joining Turkish or Asiana as they have some of the easiest requirements for Star Gold. But if you are just looking to redeem tickets in the future then Aegean is probably the better choice overall.

There aren’t much credit cards in the UK that earn miles for any Star Alliance airlines. Most earn Avios or Virgin Atlantic Flyer Club miles. It’ll be best if you apply for one that can earn variable points. There is the United MileagePlus or the Lufthansa Miles&More American Express & Visa Cards that directly earn miles for the respected programmes.
