Access to CX first class lounge on overnight layover
Hi, I have a trip from Bali to Tokyo via Hong Kong coming up. It’s Cathay Pacific business class from DPS – HKG on a Wednesday evening, arriving 9pm, departing HKG – HND in first class Thursday morning at 8:40am. Will I be able to check out the first class Wing or Pier lounge when I arrive on Wednesday evening or will I have to wait until Thursday morning before I depart? I’d love to maximize my lounge time if it’s possible but I wasn’t sure what their access policy is and/or whether I will even have access to the departure area when I arrive on my flight from Bali. Thanks!
I’ve not been to HKG yet but I suspect you won’t have access until Thursday morning.
When I was in HKG, I checked into my CX F flight 14 hours before takeoff and was let into the lounge just fine. I think OW has a 24 hour policy.

It was the next day at 2am.
You won’t automatically have access to the departure area though, as Hong Kong doesn’t have sterile transit. You’d have to clear security again (and I’m sure they’d let you), but I’m not sure how you get out of the airport if you’re not on an arriving flight.
Unless you’re planning on spending the night in the airport, I’d probably skip the lounges on arrival, personally.
