Aadvantage accrual on a BA marketed flight on AA metal?

Aadvantage accrual on a BA marketed flight on AA metal?

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi All,

I purchased a J class ticket last year for RT travel from LAX-FCO marked by BA using AA metal. I have just spend 45 minutes on the phone with AA trying to figure out which earnings chart the mileage accrual and EQM’s are governed by, the chart for travel on American or the chart for flights operated by BA. I’m also trying to find out if this will qualify for the 25,000 mile bonus for flights to Europe this Summer, given that it was booked before May 9th. The collective answer after talking with three people about both of these issues was: “we don’t know, send an e-mail.” Does anyone know the answer to either of these questions?

Did you book the flight through BA? And it had a BA flight number but was on AA metal for the first leg?

Correct. I purchased it through BA’s website and all four legs are on American metal.

I believe you earn based on the AAdvantage rates for travel on a BA since you booked the ticket as a codeshare marketed by BA.

You qualify for the Europe bonus since youre traveling on one of the qualifying airlines.
