AA Lounge Access Question

AA Lounge Access Question

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi all,

Think I understand the rules for AA lounge access, but wanted to check to see…..

We fly YVR-DFW (overnight), then DFW-CZM and return CZM-DFW/DFW-YVR all in one day. We are in paid business class (I Class).

If I understand the policy correctly, we get lounge access at either the CX or BA business lounge in YVR, but no access in DFW. Is this correct? If lounge access in YVR any input on which lounge? Thanks!

@James22 — Welcome! Do you have elite status? Otherwise, you’re correct about not being able to access AA lounges:
”First and Business Class customers who do not hold Emerald or Sapphire tier status are not eligible to access American Airlines or US Airways lounges when traveling on solely domestic flights within the US or between the US and Canada, Mexico [except Mexico City], the Bahamas, Bermuda and the Caribbean”
If lounge access is important, you might consider taking a look at ebay before flying. It’s often possible to pick up discounted passes.

Thank you Tiffany! No, we don’t have elite status. I am correct though that we can access the CX or BA business lounge at YVR?

    I think so, yes.

    Hi Tiffany,

My question is related (to some extent) to the original post, so I am posting my question here. Hope you don’t mind. If one has an AA ExPlat status traveling on AA metal (economy, LAX-DFW-LHR) awarded using a partner airline, is that person & accompanying passengers in the same reservation# allowed to access a lounge?
    Thanks.

@Overland if you look at the bottom of this page http://www.aa.com/i18n/disclaimers/aadvantageExecutivePlatinum.jsp, you will see that you and one other person should have access to the flagship lounge at LAX.
