AA Business First vs AA First
I’m trying to book my award travel before American raises it’s costs, and obviously have trouble finding first class flights (filtering OUT british airways with its RIDICULOUS fees). I see that towards the off-season, AA switches to 2-class flights on its A330. The Business/First seats look to be the same as 3-class first class seats. Do you have any experience with these seats? They actually look like a bargain at 50K miles. Also, I don’t know it these afford me access to AA’s first class lounge.

Hey @John Strock! The A330 is going to be a former US Airways plane, like these: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2015/03/26/review-us-airways-business-class-a330-frankfurt-to-philadelphia/
The catering is almost identical to first (first receives an additional appetizer, but the entrees are the same). The blankets are the same, though first class also has a mattress pad.
But it’s a 1-2-1 configuration, and perfectly comfortable. I wouldn’t hesitate to fly it, and actually just booked an A330 flight to Munich for later this year. Considering the lack of fuel surcharges, I agree it’s a very compelling price.
